MFG* 142 Electronic Circuits and Devices Credits: 3
Electronic circuits and devices are commonplace in the industrial manufacturing process; consequently, a complete understanding of control circuits and devices is necessary for anyone who intends to have a career in manufacturing control, maintenance, or engineering. Electronic Circuits and Devices provides an introduction to electronic materials, components, circuits, devices and their applications. The course will provide an overview of semiconductors, diodes, transistors (bi-polar, field-effect and unijunction), applications of silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCR’s) and triodes for alternating current (TRIAC’s) to circuits, and application of components to rectifiers, amplifiers, and relays. Prerequisite: Eligible for MAT* 095 or higher.
