COM* 276 Argument and Persuasion Credits: 3
This course considers the theoretical foundations and practical applications of sound argument and effective and ethical persuasion. Topics will include persuasive appeals and strategies, the structure of arguments, logical fallacies, and critical listening. Students will have the opportunity to apply course concepts to the construction and analysis of the arguments surrounding several contemporary controversial issues. Prerequisite: ENG* 101 ; COM* 171 or COM* 173 or COM* 176
