AST* 111 Introduction to Astronomy Credits: 4
This is an introductory course in astronomy which covers the origin and evolution of the sun, the universe, and the planets. In addition, methods of observing and analyzing astronomical events will be discussed. Students may also explore special topics of contemporary interest. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisite: MAT* 095 or placement at college level math on Basic Skills Assessment TAP Competency: Scientific Knowledge & Understanding
