The Cybersecurity program prepares students with the entry-level knowledge and skill sets necessary to protect an organizations cyberspace. Cybersecurity professionals are in high demand today. The recently published Connecticut Cybersecurity Strategy highlights 4,153 unfilled cybersecurity job openings in Connecticut and an estimated 1.5 million jobs nation-wide by 2020. This degree is designed with immediate workforce placement; however, students can easily transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year university. The Cybersecurity curriculum aligns with and prepares students for numerous national recognized industry certifications, such as ISC2s Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) and CompTIA’s Security+ certification. Students graduating from this program will be proficient in understanding the learning objectives and security technologies necessary to pass both of these certification exams.
