ESL* 137 Oral Communications III Credits: 3
This course is designed to help low-intermediate non-native English-speaking students develop speaking fluency for a variety of conversation and discussion skills by improving their listening and oral skills through guided communicative activities at the discourse level. Activities include presentations and discussions, as well as the use of guided listening materials. Students learn to make effective use of English grammar and vocabulary from readings and other media. Cultural aspects of oral communication in various contexts are included in this course. The course emphasizes the development of listening and speaking skills needed for academic environments. Prerequisite: ESL* 027 or placement at the ESL* 137 level
