Compliance with the Crime Awareness & Campus Security Act
Report on Campus Safety

The U.S. Congress enacted the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act into Law in November 1990. Title II of this act is known as the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act, and has been subsequently amended several times. It requires institutions participating in student financial aid programs under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 to disclose information about campus safety policies and procedures, and to provide statistics concerning certain crimes that occurred on campus.

QVCC will comply with the requirements of the Act by preparing, publishing and distributing policy statements supportive to the theme, goals, and intent of the Act. Crime Statistics
The “Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act” (20 U.S.C. section 1092) requires that crime statistics concerning the occurrence of crime be published for the most recent calendar year, and during the two proceeding calendar years for which data are available in the following categories:

  • On-campus;
  • In or on a non-campus building or property;
  • On public property;
